A81 MID has 7-inch screen, powered by ARM Cortex A8

Yes, I know what it looks like, but please don't say it.

Contrary to what the background image suggests, this 7.09" x 4.33" x 0.59" tablet is called the A81 MID and even though "velev" is printed on the back, Shenzhen Wei-Zhi Technology Company is taking credit for it. It's easy to see why they would too, as a 600MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 7" WVGA touchscreen, WiFi, GPS, and 3000mAh lithium battery are enough to make a lot of manufacturers proud.

The fact that the 13.76-ounce slate runs Windows CE 6.0 makes it a little less appealing, perhaps, but the screen shots make it look fairly attractive and rather well suited for a large touchscreen. It also looks like a nice alternative to the SmartQ 7 Internet Tablet for couch surfing and casual use, especially if the Cortex A8 is really in there.

I have my doubts about the legitimacy of this product in general, as the colorful design on the back looks really familiar and I don't know what that "velev" branding is all about, but it still looks nice.

Anyone seen this before?
