Chuwi W3000 MID fails to impress

Last month there was a rumor going around that Chuwi, a Chinese company somewhat known for its line of PMPs, was working on a MID powered by a Telechips multimedia processor that would enable the handheld to boot into its Windows CE interface in 8 seconds. The CPU/OS combo wasn't exactly the stuff of juicy gossip, so it's hardly a shocker that the Chuwi W3000 MID debuted this week . . . and just about no one cared.

Even though the 4.1-inch WVGA touchscreen, 802.11a/b/g/n, GPS, 1.3-megapixel camera, and extensive codec support actually make up a pretty decent list of specs for a portable Internet device that really doesn't look too bad and also has what appears to be a finger-optimized UI, this is probably the first and last time you'll ever hear about it.
