Raon Digital Everun . . . mini notebook
The AMD-powered mini notebook spotted at Computex and unofficially attributed to Raon Digital has just been confirmed by the 7-inch unit's Device Manager to be the new Everun. It's possible that the Korean company is just using the name as a placeholder (production is scheduled to begin at the end of July, according to Small-Laptops.com, so there's still time for some brainstorming), but whatever it's called, it will likely have the following specs: AMD Turion 64 X2 processor, 1GB RAM, 1024 x 600 touchscreen, optical mouse, 60GB/80GB hard drive, SD card slot, Bluetooth, wi-fi, and integrated HSDPA.
Although I wasn't blown away by the original Everun, it was such an improvement over the Vega that I had high hopes for Raon Digital's third mobile device. This Eee-alike, despite its specs, wasn't what I had in mind. Where's the "wow" in little laptops? I don't think my pharmacist carries anything for a UMPC blues relapse.
