HTC Shift (CDMA version) leaked on Amazon

Cdma_htc_shiftThe consequences for doing this must not be too harsh because Amazon is once again responsible for leaking a product before it was supposed to be revealed to the public. This time around, the mega retailer began taking preorders for a new CDMA/EV-DO version of the HTC Shift several days before the official announcement, which was scheduled for Monday.

While the GSM/HSDPA Shift that began shipping in the US last week can only be found through third-party sellers on Amazon, the CDMA model (encased in a lighter shade of gray than the one I pawed at CES) is "officially" up for the taking and priced at $1499. Given that replacing SnapVUE with full Windows Mobile 6 is now possible, the price point almost seems a little less exorbitant for a 40GB 800 x 480 Vista-based UMPC that should've been released last year.
