Sony PSP slims down for September

New_pspWell, it isn't the PSP2 many were hoping for, but Sony unveiled at E3 today a trimmer PSP that's still not too shabby with better battery life and video-out capabilities.

Its lack of any internal storage and barely modified design, however, proves that you really shouldn't trust those "undisclosed sources" and "sources close to Sony" with any of your secrets. Slated for a September 2007 release, the new PSP is 33% lighter and 19% thinner than its predecessor and will be available in various colors and bundles, possibly for $199.

I say "possibly" because the contents of the bundles aren't identical.

New_psp_box

The standard bundle includes an AC adapter, battery pack, and the PSP in Piano Black, Ice Silver (?), Lavender Purple, Rose Pink, or Felicia Blue.

New_psp_daxter

The Limited Edition Daxter Entertainment Pack contains an AC adapter, battery pack, 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo card, Daxter (a game), Family Guy: The Freakin' Sweet Collection UMD (random choice, if you ask me), and the PSP in Ice Silver.

New_psp_starwars

The Limited Edition Star Wars Battlefront Entertainment Pack includes an AC adapter, battery pack, Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron (a game), and the PSP in Ceramic White with Darth Vader silkscreened on the back.

There's no way that all of these bundles can cost $199.
